Exhibition Re-Museum, National Gallery Tbilisi, 2014 

The sculpture by Nino Sekhniashvili recalls the connection between two historically colonial institutions: the museum and the zoo. Her wild animal is made with silk, a refined material. Thus Sekhniashvili’s amusing gesture of hanging gorilla may be referring to the victory of nature over culture.
