I see the rain - Video Installation surrounded by second-hand steel props, the viewer watches a computer-simulated video in which a 3D avatar asks for social media support. The video loops, exacerbating the feeling of overall absurdity. The piece touches on the subject of empathy. How empathetic can we really be and can technology help heighten our senses in this regard? Is it even possible to see or feel the “rain”(signifying forces of nature) once we have lost touch with the reality of an issue, be it social, ecological or political? The second-hand steel props symbolize the Georgian reality of chaotic constructions, as well as psycho-cultural constructs of our society, often just as hand-me-down and devoid of real purpose as the rusty pipes.
