Perestroica Wall (installation photo)
Luka Lasareishvili
1987
The background wall of this installation is composed of three parts that represent the history of the Soviet Union (Revolution time, Repression and Cold War); the wall shows severe signs of destruction. In front of this wall stands a sculpture of a man, without a face. This sculpture -visibly made out of newspapers- is hollow on the inside. The sculpture is connected with a rope and chain to the wall and surrounded by some broken objects.
