Temo Javakhi Retrospective Exhibition: Words Objects - "MIRRORRIM" [National Gallery]

Up to 140 works by Temo Javakh in various media will be presented at the exhibition.

Temo Javakh is a representative of Georgian contemporary art. He is known for a variety of experiments. His work directly reflects the author's attitude to current events in the local context.

The artist has created paintings and graphics, creates installations, video art, art objects, sets performances, works in photography, etc. The artist rejects the monotonous artistic stylistics and combines the artistic form and context of matching works of art with different themes.

Temo Javakh's works often contain signs, individual letters of the alphabet, contextual texts, numbers, cartographic silhouettes, symbolic images - a kind of ciphers that bring certain messages. Temo Javakhi attaches special importance to the word and creates "word objects", which have become his business card.

The artist is actively involved in local and international exhibitions, has participated in about 80 projects alongside such famous artists as: d. Kakabadze, S. Parajanov, M. Dushan, K. Malevich, Le Corbusier and many others. Temo Javakh has published 2 collections of minimalist and specific poetry. His poetry has been translated into German, Slovak, Russian and Azerbaijani.

The author's works are preserved in the Georgian National Museum, Pompidou Center, "M. In the collection of "Gelman" Gallery and in the private collections of Georgia and abroad.

The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection and the Center for Cultural Events of Tbilisi City Hall.
