Giga Datuashvili 1976-2000 [National Gallery]

The works presented at the exhibition belong to the late 90s. The exhibition will feature graphic series depicting the interpretations of literary characters; Compositions made with tempera paints; Portrait sketches made with watercolor, pencil or pen.

Giga Datuashvili started painting at an early age. He received his professional education while studying at the Faculty of Painting Restoration at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. After graduating from the academy, he selflessly taught painting at the Dzegvi Orphanage. Participated in the restoration works of numerous temple paintings.

In 2000, Giga Datuashvili died tragically at the age of 24. The author's works and manuscripts are kept in his family's private collection.
