The Ironic-Gothic series of ,,Georgian Dark,, is one of my latest(2017-2019) project of graphic works on vellum in mixed media. It`s a conception where you can see stories about Georgian women. These are abstract stories: something is meant specifically and at the same time you can`t catch the whole meaning. These stories include everything but prove nothing. While working on this series I played a lot with my free imagination and thinking, such as: Medea(mythology), witchery, womanhood and masculine functions, real Georgian aristocracy, glamorous, arrogance and etc, etc. Some characters are general and conditional, some more concrete. My purpose was to explore dark and hidden sides of Georgian character and it gave me the feeling of expression that is characteristic to this drawings: black and white, laconic, gloomy and at the same time rather elegant. All this is united by humor. Series ,,Georgian Dark,, is a little provocative but with a goodwill humor. It was important to me that series ,,Georgian Dark,, visual should be contemporary even though it has past narratives. This is a mixed style, something like ,,Conceptual Vintage,, ....
