Shiny Colorful Pencils

2018

Dèdicace Gallery presents the exhibition of a young photographer Ketevan Kanchaveli - "Shiny Colorful Pencils."

The photo series, presented at the exhibition, tells the story of the locals of the village Gremi. Members of the above-mentioned community are disabled people of different age groups.

Alongside the photo portraits, Ketevan filmed the members of the community, who she was already familiar with. In these short videos, participants share their unique stories and tell about their gift wishes for Christmas.

The name of the exhibition Shiny Colorful Pencils is simultaneously a Christmas wish of one of the beneficiaries.

The main objective of Ketevan Kanchaveli’s project is to introduce the community to larger society; to let the audience see how people live in Kakheti’s small village Gremi, where people mainly live only on private donations, their own farming, and their wine sales.

Aside from viewing expressive photo portraits and videos, the visitors will have an opportunity to buy tickets by which they will contribute to making the villager's Christmas wishes come true. At the exhibition, the guests will have the chance to try and buy natural wine made by the community.
