Lia Bagrationi “Clay as a Memory Vessel“

2014

Dédicace Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition “Clay as a Memory Vessel” of seven recent sculpure objects created by the clay artist Lia Bagrationi.

Opening reception: Tuesday, February 18, 2014; 7pm to 9pm.

Lia Bagrationi lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. She is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics, associate professor at the State Academy of Arts and co-founder of "The Clay Office". Lia permanently exhibits her work in group and solo shows nationally and internationally. Sculptures represented are inspired by the features of clay. Regarding this Bagrationi stated: "I am an artist working in clay as I find it to be a fascinated medium. Clay is a matter eager to become a form. Forms of nature, forms ever shaped by a human and never created forms that rest in the infinite memory of its substance. My task is to let these forms free and bring memories of clay to life....."

The exhibition "Clay as a Memory Vessel" opens February 18, 2014 and runs through March 15 2014.

Address: Dédicace Gallery, 27 Atoneli str., Tbilisi.
