''The Contemporary Art Space'' presents an exhibition of winner ''Gorgonas" project in the 2020 Competition.

Art project “The reality I live in” constitutes of a reflection on the common environment the artists, working in various media platforms, live in. We, as the members of the society, daily reflect life events and we are influenced by the cultural and social processes. Converting and conservation of the information gained from the environment, as the subjective process is depicted differently by individuals. We live in the same reality, however perceive it differently. Therefore, the feelings and expressions of an individual provoked by certain occurrences are unique. The exhibition space will be a particular experiment where artists, working in different media (installation, photography, painting, performance, etc.) will attempt to create their personal space by various modern affordances. Visitors have opportunity to share artists’ personal space as a vast spectrum of feelings and to become immediate participants of authors' passions and emotions …

“Circule”

The environment I live in is chaotic, however, it is interesting which point of view one chooses. One might find peaceful “visual”, in which he/she feels comfortable and thoroughly settled. Every individual chooses his/her own life. Everything is in our hands.

“Uncertainty”

Every day we come across numerous challenges, we have to make many decisions and incessantly gain information from local as well as global platforms. Beyond these processes, people have expectations and they are constantly in doubts. The feeling of stability is conditional, inasmuch as in today`s world everything might change tomorrow, prices might double, one might lose his/her job, etc. What we experience and feel every day is uncertainty.

“(Ir)reality …

Traveling in the World … ’’

I think that there exists more or less objective data by its own, yet these "objectives" are perceived subjectively by a human being and the world outside for a human is exactly the way as they look on it from their inner world. Perception of the own inner world is also subjective and is derived from the subjective experiences (from my personal subjective point of view :)) ... In formation of my world view an important contribution is made by nomadic (Bedouin-like) wandering. Traveling in the countries, cultures is good practical way for me to observe and getting to know the world and takes me on a journey every way, as it gives me means to see and get to know the world(s) outside and inside me from the various angles and their interactions with each other and as a whole ...

“The view from my window”

The price of the apartment rises as we move on to the higher floor. Meaning the higher the floor the better is the view. However, nothing is better here. There are chaotically aligned buildings in front of me. 

I create an alternative view from my window. I create a city with urban planning, in which the environment is important.

“Amalgamation”

Losing yourself?

Amalgamation – communication with the universe, with others, with yourself. The way you cover every day. It is a bond, which unites with others and separates from them. It is an escape from yourself. It is a hide.

“Gaze”

The “male gaze” invokes the sexual politics of the gaze and suggests a sexualised way of looking that empowers men and objectifies women. In the male gaze, woman is visually positioned as an “object” of heterosexual male desire. Her feelings, thoughts and her own sexual drives are less important than her being “framed” by male desire.
