Conflicting social systems, beliefs, and principles, when one has an alternative choice as a given. Neither of the two versions may be acceptable to him, but he still has to choose. Every condition creates an artificial feeling that there is no alternative but the alternatives raise barriers. Accepting a new, different kind of solution, which may be a way out, at first, raises a feeling of fear, and that feeling of novelty goes back to the barrier. The basic principle of freedom is that a person should make a choice independently, not on the basis of environmental conditions. Circumstances include not only external factors but also internal emotions.
