,,The nonmaterial world is sometimes a part of our recollection. Touching the things provokes the remembrance connected with the past and sometimes these things themselves become the inspiration for the recollection. Frequently, the material and spiritual worlds are connected with the reality of life intensely. Each person has a different kind of this reality and it is perceived by surrounders differently. Often the extremely attained reality, particularly perceived by outsiders may be the ordinary reality for the person that exists in it. Ordinary life may be different due to psychological tension." - Mariam Akhobadze

The works of Mariam Akhobadze with the exhibition title “Ordinary life’’, at first sight, may represent a gathering of genre paintings. Narrative elements follow each other as film shots. In pictorial scenes sometimes there appear empty interiors, and sometimes their inhabitants. Some may think there is nothing important in the everyday life scenes, that are seen by the artist , but there appears the distinctive feature of Mariam Akhobadze ‘s conceptual vision - when looking at the works created in silent, inert manner, the observer feels for sure something unusual, something special – wonderful pleasure of “The Unbearable Lightness of Being’’.
