Maudi

2019

MAUDI is a not-for-profit art space in Tbilisi, run by artists. It hosts a variety of events - exhibitions, music sessions, film screenings, theater plays, public talks, and more.

Located in Didube, an industrial district of Tbilisi, MAUDI contributes to decentralizing the local art scene, placing it within the busy compound, composed of workshops and building material suppliers, surrounded by a bazaar and transportation knot.

Space is made up of interlocking parts, a lobby serving as a social hub, a large exhibition hall, the workshop space, performance space, and an office. Connecting these spaces allows artists to produce works on site, with direct relation to the surroundings.

MAUDI was founded in 2019 by Liza Zhvania, Lado Shonia and Dimitri Eristavi with an idea to create anew arts platform, encouraging artists’ more direct involvement in shaping the scene of the industry and forming connections locally and internationally.
