Avant-Garde Fashion Assembly (First edition)

1995

"Avant-Garde Fashion Assembly was a huge festival, inviting fashion designers from all over the world to represent themselves on a runway.

90ies being known  as a dark and miserable time period of Georgian history is not a myth, but using this period for fruitful purposes was a myth for a lot of people. One of the change makers was 23 years old Gela Kuprashvili, organizer of Avant-Garde Fashion Assembly, 1995,1996,1999, Tbilisi, Georgia. Youth started to change and entertained themselves in many different ways, which, nowadays, are marked on cultural map of Tbilisi. Avant-Garde Fashion Assembly was a huge festival, inviting fashion designers from all over the world to represent themselves on a runway. Jury consisted of 10 people from different countries and spheres, such as a head of Yves Saint Lauren fashion house, a mayor, a minister of culture and etc. Society, being under sensory aphasia (state of brain, when individual has poor auditory comprehension but fluent speech) and being over-concerned about the future, does not really recall such happenings in the past." source.
